Ischia (/ ˈ ɪ s k i ə / ISK-ee-ə, Italian:, Neapolitan:) is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It lies at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples , about 30 kilometres (19 miles) from the city of Naples .
Ischia is a town and one of the six comuni on Ischia island, in the Tyrrhenian Sea. With a population of about 18,000, it is the largest settlement on the island. Administratively, it is part of the Metropolitan city of Naples, in the Campania region of Southern Italy. It is famed for its thermal baths due to the volcanic nature of the island.
Citara (Italian: Spiaggia di Citara) is a beach located in Forio d'Ischia, in the Ischia island of Italy, near Punta Imperatore and the village of Panza.Its name comes from Romans who consecrated the site to Venus Citarea, whose statue made of white marble was found in the area. [1]
