Fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP; also called fibre-reinforced polymer, or in American English fiber) is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibres. The fibres are usually glass (in fibreglass ), carbon (in carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer ), aramid , or basalt .
FRP composites utilizing ortho resins are found in such application as boat hulls, bath ware, and bowling ball cores. Iso resins are generally on the higher end of UPR products, both because of the relatively higher cost of the isophthalic acid as well as the superior properties they possess.
