Lepakshi is a village in the Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh, India. [2] It is located 15 km (9.3 miles) east of Hindupur and approximately 82 km (51 miles) west of Kadiri and 120 km (75 mi) north of Bangalore. The famous Veerabhadra Temple is located in the village.
Prior to the 17th-century, it was major town and the regional capital of a territory with the Vijayanagara Empire. Lepakshi is home to several large spectacular Hindu temples with 16th-century sculpture and artwork.
