The 1st Space Operations Squadron (1 SOPS) is a United States Space Force unit responsible for space-based space domain awareness.Located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, the squadron operates the Space Based Space Surveillance system, the Advanced Technology Risk Reduction system, the Operationally Responsive Space-5 satellite, and the Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program.

On 5 June 1998, Falcon Air Force Base was renamed Schriever Air Force Base in honor of the retired General Bernard Schriever, who pioneered in the development of the American ballistic missile programs. Schriever AFB was the only Air Force base that was named for an Air Force veteran who was living at the time. General Schriever died 20 June 2005.
SBD 1 was formerly known as the Peterson-Schriever Garrison (P-S GAR) until its redesignation to Space Base Delta 1 on May 23, 2022. [6] P-S GAR was activated on 24 July 2020, replacing the 21st Space Wing (based at the then Peterson Air Force Base) and the 50th Space Wing (based at the then Schriever Air Force Base).
