Morrison County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 34,010. [1] Its county seat is Little Falls. [2] Camp Ripley Military Reservation occupies a significant area in north-central Morrison County.

Morrison was arrested by a sheriff from Walker, Minnesota (the county seat of Cass County) on charges of criminal libel brought by Jamison. Morrison was sentenced to 90 days in the Cass County jail, but raised bail and returned to Duluth pending appeal.
Morrison County was established in 1856. At its foundation, $8,000 was issued from the county in the form of bonds to build a courthouse. Only one room could be used by 1860 and by 1869, the courtroom was finished. This courthouse, however, was a frame building and proved inadequate for the county's needs.
During Prohibition, the organizer of the regular Saturday night dances alerted the county sheriff to troublemakers getting drunk on moonshine, resulting in a January 1925 raid that landed seven young men in jail. The Clarissa Independent proudly reported that all but two of them were "outsiders" from Bartlett Township and Aldrich, Minnesota. [2]
