The Hardangerfjord (English: Hardanger Fjord) [1] [2] [3] is the fifth longest fjord in the world, and the second longest fjord in Norway. [4] It is located in Vestland county in the Hardanger region. The fjord stretches 179 kilometres (111 mi) from the Atlantic Ocean into the mountainous interior of Norway along the Hardangervidda plateau.

Hardanger is a traditional district in the western part of Norway, dominated by the Hardangerfjord and its inner branches of the Sørfjorden and the Eid Fjord.It consists of the municipalities of Ullensvang, Eidfjord, Ulvik and Kvam, and is located inside the county of Vestland.
Bridal Procession on the Hardangerfjord is an 1848 painting by Hans Gude and Adolph Tidemand, considered to be a prime example of Norwegian romantic nationalism. Gude painted the Norwegian landscape and Tidemand the bridal party. In the foreground boat, the groom is depicted tipping his hat, and the bride wears a bridal crown.
The Seven Sisters (Norwegian: De Syv Søstrene or Dei sju systrene, also known as Knivsflåfossen) is the 39th tallest waterfall in Norway.The 410-metre (1,350 ft) tall waterfall consists of seven separate streams, and the tallest of the seven has a free fall that measures 250 metres (820 ft).
Hardangervidda is accessible all year round. June/July to September/October is great for hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, cycling, horseback riding, canoeing, hunting and other summer activities. Hiking is the easiest and best way to experience Hardangervidda national park.
