Metalocalypse is an American musical adult animated television series created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha for Adult Swim.It premiered on August 6, 2006. The television program centers on the larger-than-life melodic death metal band Dethklok, and often portrays dark and macabre content, including such subjects as violence, death, and the drawbacks of fame, with hyperbolic black comedy.
Dethklok realizes that "Depths of Humanity" is the name of the club where Toki played his first gig with Dethklok ("The Answer Is In Your Past"), and goes there to find him. Instead they encounter their old band manager, Skwisgaar's old guitar teacher, and old groupies. They harass Dethklok about how the band abandoned them.
Dethklok hold a press conference to announce a new tour and album. While the rest of the band have no recollection of the rescuing Toki from the Revengeancers, Nathan suffers from post-traumatic stress which results in his passing out during a performance. All plans are postponed while he recovers at Mordhaus.
During the tour they released the ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead/Dethklok split EP for free at the concerts. The second Dethklok album, Dethalbum II, was released on September 29, 2009. Dethalbum II reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest charting death metal album in history, beating the first Dethalbum.
Outside of fiction, Facebones is used to host video segments in interludes at Dethklok's live concerts. The videos are projected onto a large screen and provide mock 'behind-the-scenes' information. He also appears in the video for Bloodrocuted as an artifact from which the video's protagonist gains power.
The concert begins as planned, but the plug is literally pulled on Dethklok, and are unable to continue unless they renegotiate their contract on terms much more favorable to the label.
