There is a short road, Park Road 4, off of Park Road 1, that leads to the house. Visitors can also hike there on a 0.7-mile trail along the lake from the Stone House Trail Parking Area on Park Road 1.
The original house was an important part of the 1776 Battle of Long Island during the American Revolutionary War.
