Devon Toews (/ d ə ˈ v ɑː n ˈ t eɪ v z / də-VAHN TAYVZ; [1] born February 21, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). Nicknamed "Tazer", Toews was drafted 108th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2014 NHL entry draft.
