Michael Bettes (born 1972) is an American television meteorologist and storm chaser who works for The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a co-host of AMHQ: America's Morning Headquarters . [ 1 ]
Mike Bettes and Maria LaRosa departed AMHQ on January 23. Bettes was named host of Weather Underground later that year while LaRosa was shifted to weekends. A weekend edition of AMHQ was also announced, with meteorologists Reynolds Wolf and Kait Parker hosting from 5:00 to 9:00 AM ET. The weekend edition launched on February 7, 2015.
In July 2003, Abrams began on-air work for The Weather Channel as a reporter and fill-in, roles she filled until 2005, when she joined her first show, Weekend View, as a co-host. In 2006, she became an on-camera meteorologist as co-host of Abrams and Bettes: Beyond the Forecast and then went on to Weather Center, also with co-host Mike Bettes.
