Koster, who were both so deeply moved and affected by Kathryn's work they decided to put together this book to best give their thanks to Kathryn Tanner for her contributions to contemporary theology. She completed her doctorate in systematic theology in 1988, studying with James Cone, a renowned theologian and the founder of black liberation theology. [ 9 ] [ 1 ] [ 14 ] At Union, she was awarded the Hudnut Award and the Julius Hanson Award, for preaching excellence and outstanding theological studies, respectively.
Parker has written numerous sermons, speeches, magazine articles, and poetry as well as several theological books published by Beacon Press and Skinner House. Dr. Parker became a founding board member of The Braxton Institute for Sustainability, Resiliency and Joy in 2012.

Frederick Dale Bruner is a theologian and author of several works, including a critical examination of Pentecostal theology, entitled "A Theology of the Holy Spirit," and his multi-volumed commentaries on the Gospels of Matthew and John (all three published by Eerdmans).
[1] [2] His 1971 book A Theology of Liberation is considered pivotal to the formation of liberation theology. [3] [4] [5] He held the John Cardinal O'Hara Professorship of Theology at the University of Notre Dame and was a visiting professor at universities in North America and Europe. [6]
