The second fire in September 1973 destroyed several buildings, including the lower building called the "Underground". New York State Route 78 (NY 78) is a 73.49-mile-long (118.27 km) state highway in western New York in the United States. While it is signed north–south, the southern portion runs in an east–west direction across Wyoming and Erie counties, from its beginning at a junction with NY 19 north of the village of Gainesville to the village of East Aurora.
NY Route 78, Transit Road, marks the west town line. The eastern terminus of NY Route 324 , Sheridan Drive, is located in Clarence at the intersection of NY-5 and Thompson Road. The New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) is immediately south of the town.
The vertical drop is part of the Onondaga Escarpment, a portion of which runs through Williamsville. Today, the falls forms part of the eastern border of Glen Park . Glen Falls has a very similar name to the city of Glens Falls , which is located in the far eastern portion of New York State , over 200 miles (320 km) from Williamsville.
