Due to the steady success of the Heavy Seas brand, Sisson and his crew decided to rebrand Clipper City beers in 2010; the beers under the Clipper City brand now sell as Heavy Seas Gold Ale, Heavy Seas Powder Monkey Pale Ale and Heavy Seas Cutlass Amber Lager. In 2011, the brewery tacked on 10,000 square foot addition to its 15,000 sq. ft. brewery.
The third USS Los Angeles (CA-135) was a Baltimore-class heavy cruiser, laid down by the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Philadelphia, on 28 July 1943 and launched on 20 August 1944. She was sponsored by Mrs. Fletcher Bowron and commissioned on 22 July 1945, with Captain John A. Snackenberg in command.
Originally known as the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition, the event now includes entries in the categories of wine, spirits, beer and extra virgin olive oil. The competition was created as part of the L.A. County Fair. Local guests could submit their wines and receive medals for their entries.

In the mid-1930s, Ray Haller opened the Polynesian bar 7 Seas in the building. The bar, which featured an exotic Tahitian atmosphere complete with thunder, lightning, and rain, was a hot spot for celebrities as well as soldiers and sailors stationed in Los Angeles during World War II. The restaurant eventually added a Hawaiian show as well. [2]
