Yu-Gi-Oh!, known in Japan as Yu-Gi-Oh!Duel Monsters (Japanese: 遊☆戯☆王デュエルモンスターズ, Hepburn: Yūgiō Dyueru Monsutāzu) and alternatively subtitled Rulers of the Duel in the United States and Canada, is a Japanese anime series animated by Studio Gallop based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series written by Kazuki Takahashi.
Yu-Gi-Oh! (遊戯王, Yūgiō, lit."Game King") is a manga series by Kazuki Takahashi that was adapted into three television anime series and several films. The original 1998 anime series was produced by Toei Animation and was broadcast in Japan from April 4, 1998 to October 10, 1998, running for 27 episodes.
Despite having a similar attitude to him, Seto was a loyal friend of Atem. Before the Battle City arc, a tablet depicting Seto fighting Atem was on display at the Domino City Museum, with his Blue-Eyes White Dragon fighting against Atem's Dark Magician. During the Battle City arc, Kaiba experiences visions of his past life as Seto.

Seto Kaiba, a new student in Yugi's class, is a Duel Monsters expert and the head of a company known as Kaiba Corporation. After he steals the rare Blue-Eyes White Dragon card from Yugi's grandfather, Yami Yugi challenges Kaiba to a duel where the monsters from the cards are real. The game ends in a tie, and Yugi gets his grandpa's card back.
