RTL (previously known as RTL Televizija) is a Croatian free-to-air television network founded on 30 April 2004. It was owned by the RTL Group from 2004 to 2022. [1] Since 1 June 2022, it is owned by the CME Group. [2] It is the second commercial television network in Croatia that has a national concession, following Nova TV.
RTL Deutschland (previously Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland) is a German media company based in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. [2] It was founded in 2007 as a holding company for the German television, broadcasting and content production businesses of the RTL Group , which is majority-owned by Bertelsmann .
In 1984, German language RTL Plus (now RTL Television) was added on channel E7 (PAL-B). All these stations carried a program in Luxembourgish, called Hei elei, kuck elei [ lb ] . The main purpose was to show these stations were essentially broadcasters from Luxembourg and not aiming to be commercial stations in Belgium , France and Germany .
