You can use the AutoCAD command GEOGRAPHICLOCATION (or similar tools in AutoCAD Map and Civil 3D) to insert geographic location information to your drawing file - by specifying the location of a reference point on a map provided by an online maps service and adjusting scale and offset.
The issue is that all of the layers are in true color so I cant print them in black and white. I wish I could tell if your suggestion might work but the problem is my xref was created by and architect working in Vector works, and I notice when I open my Layer manager, the layers are actually not visible.
i've encountered this issue on different versions of autocad, different computers and different mice. i click the polyline, hover over the grip, the menu appears: STRETCH, ADD VERTEX, CONVERT TO ARC [or STRETCH VERTEX, ADD VERTEX, REMOVE VERTEX if i edit a hatch].
I'm on AutoCAD Lt for Mac and there is no WMFOUT command. A simple work around if you have the software is to WBLOCK the text layer (include a reference item/line for scaling later). Open the dwg in Adobe Illustrator which handles dwgs pretty well in my experience.

Like others have stated you can bring the autocad drawing in as a background but you will have recreate the building in Revit. If the buildings have been built I guess you can get a laser scan done which will give you a 3-D image from which you can start a Revit model or have a third party service prepare revit models from your autocad drawings.
