The North Carolina state seal is part of the floor of the Albemarle Building at 325 N. Salisbury St. in downtown Raleigh, which includes the offices for the governor.

In 1915, the building was named in honor of Alexander Holladay, NC State's first President. The City Council of Raleigh has designated the building as a historic site. [9]
