Radisson Blu Hotel (Armenian: Ռեդիսոն Բլու Հոթել Երևան), is a hotel in Yerevan, Armenia. It is operated by Radisson Hotels under the Radisson Blu brand. The hotel was originally opened in 2005 as the Golden Palace Yerevan. However, the hotel had been entirely renovated and expanded between 2014 and 2016.
The hotel was preceded by the former Royal Palace Hotel, a Victorian-era hotel completed in 1893 designed by British architect, Basil Champneys. [2] As part of the war effort in the 1900s, The Royal Palace was taken over and used as the headquarters for the Woman's Royal Voluntary Service.
Radisson Blu is an international hotel brand managed and operated by Radisson Hotels, and owned by Choice Hotels, Jinjiang International and the Radisson Hotel Group. Founded as the SAS Hotels in 1960, the Radisson Blu brand name came into existence in 2006 with a rebranding of Radisson SAS.
The agreement gave birth of the co-brand Radisson SAS, which became Radisson Blu since 2009. SAS International Hotels, later known as Rezidor SAS Hospitality in 2001 and then Rezidor Hotel Group in 2006, had expanded into a hotel group that consisted of more than 320 hotels as of 2008.
