Hello folks. I was laid off on March 8th, notified on January 8th. I filed for unemployment, did my waiting week (3/10-3/16), and then had my week of no unemployment pay due to severance (3/17-3/23). I then had one week of actually valid claims (3/24-3/30). I then got hired (4/1) at a different company. Two weeks later, I was laid off again (4/15).
Hello world. I am very familiar with the unemployment topic in the state of WA. I made my very first claim in early April, right when places were starting to close down, one being my place of employment at the time. Along with a majority of others, I was stuck in the adjudication process. I was stuck in that phase for 7 weeks total.
Literally to the letter of the note above from the link, anyone qualifies for these. The system allows you to claim unemployment while outside of WA. It allows you to look for work outside of Washington. If you are outside of Washington, you can look for work outside of Washington and are ready and able to the letter of the recommendation.
I was just curious if anyone knows how the new CARES ACT penalty free withdrawal against 401k (for those affected by COVID-19) works with regards to claiming unemployment in washington state. I understand one should not dip into retirement. I have 8000k in my 401k and I'm not really concerned with making that up later.

" On November 30, I received the "Determination Letter" saying "We approved your unemployment benefits starting Oct 1 2023." Great. The weekly claims I've made since November 30 are still "Processing - Web" because I submitted them yesterday. The last time I collected unemployment benefits was from February - December 2020.
