Risograph is a brand of digital duplicators manufactured by the Riso Kagaku Corporation, [1] [2] that are designed mainly for high-volume photocopying and printing. It was released in Japan in 1980. It is sometimes called a printer-duplicator, as newer models can be used as a network printer as well as a stand-alone duplicator.

Dot matrix printers are a type of impact printer that prints using a fixed number of pins or wires [2] [3] and typically use a print head that moves back and forth or in an up-and-down motion on the page and prints by impact, striking an ink-soaked cloth ribbon against the paper. They were also known as serial dot matrix printers. [4]

The process was commercialized [3] [4] and Zuccato applied for a patent in 1895 having stencils prepared by typewriting. [5]
