As the little girl said in "Aliens", affirmative. 10/22, Takedown, with Tech-Sights (no optics) front and rear. I have added a bushing, a quick-release bolt-lock, and a new extractor claw. At this point, if estimate that it has had, at ! minimum, somewhere north of 12K rounds put through it.
I finally put a scope on my 10/22 takedown. I went with the Leupold VX-1 2-7x28 with the Game Reaper medium mount and couldn't be more pleased. The low mount would have worked, but the fold down rear site would have scraped the scope unless folded down and I didn't want to risk that.
It also includes two quick detach sling swivels. Unfortunately, the sling swivels that it comes with are 1" sling swivels, but you might need the larger 1 1/4" swivels for many slings. Of course, they can be purchased separately. Here is a video showing an installation of that type on a Ruger 10/22 takedown:
I've seen both and shot both, Ruger is a far better rifle, but not a survival rifle. The Ruger is just a more convenient length when packed than a normal 10/22. The kicker is I own a Marlin Papoose - great rifle, shoots as well as a 10/22, very light, and if you don't pack it in it's special case, almost as small as the AR-7 but much better ...
The takedown is good if you are okay with just using irons. However the 10/22s are really overpriced due to all the hype. They are a great $150 gun but idk if I'd pay $400+ for a 10/22 and that's about what they go for.

I don't get it either.... It just isn't small enough.... I mean the charger is smaller and lighter, they should have made a "survival" charger with sights and a backpack, or built a "survival" carbine off of the Mark III line....the 10/22 Takedown is just in an awkward place.....the other "survival" rifles on the market are just so much smaller, packable.....I am interested in this new rifle ...
The Takedown case comfortably holds 3 BX-25 magazines, a BX-1 magazine, and about 400 rounds of ammo. Toss in a bore snake and an allen wrench and it's almost completely self sufficient for a very long time in a pretty small, lightweight package.
