Ela Cheppanu (transl. How Should I Say?) is a 2003 Indian Telugu-language film starring Tharun, Shriya Saran, and Siva Balaji. The film was directed by B.V. Ramana. It is the remake of the Bollywood film Tum Bin. [1] The film released to mixed reviews and was a box office failure.
Shriya Saran at 62nd South Filmfare awards. Shriya Saran is an Indian actress and model who has appeared mostly in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi language films. She made her acting debut with the Telugu film Ishtam (2001) and had her first commercial success with Santosham (2002).
A critic from Full Hyderabad said, "The film is definitely worth watching, thanks to its tight script, decent music, decent performances, novel treatment and brilliantly written dialogues". [5] Deccan Herald wrote, "Those who enjoyed the first half of the movie will find the second half a bit boring. But still, the movie is watchable". [6]
He had some successful films such as Priyamaina Neeku (2001), Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu (2002) [8] and Nuvve Nuvve (2002) while his other films such as Ela Cheppanu flopped. [4] The success of Priyamaina Neeku lead the makers to release the film in Tamil. [9] He made his full fledged Tamil debut with Punnagai Desam (2002).
Balaji appeared in his first film Idi Maa Ashokgadi Love Story, followed by a role in Ela Cheppanu and the lead role in Dost. His major break came in the film Arya (2004) directed by Sukumar. A reviewer said, "Siva is good as adamant, at times confused, lover. He generated comedy in a few scenes where he shows his frustration."
