The Ramapo Mountains are a forested chain of the Appalachian Mountains in northeastern New Jersey and southeastern New York, in the United States. On its northeastern edge, Harriman State Park borders the 5,000-acre (20 km 2 ) Bear Mountain State Park as well as the United States Military Academy 's 16,000-acre (65 km 2 ) forest reserve.
The park offers hiking along a mountain brook with a waterfall, fishing in the Ramapo River, Scarlet Oak Pond, MacMillan Reservoir, and tent camping.
