Tiếng gọi thanh niên, or Thanh niên hành khúc (Saigon: [tʰan niəŋ hân xúk], "March of the Youths"), and originally the March of the Students (Vietnamese: Sinh Viên Hành Khúc, French: La Marche des Étudiants), is a famous song of the Vietnamese musician Lưu Hữu Phước.
Back in 1997 (possibly 1998) when I was an expat living in the Far East, the local radio stations were playing something *very* similar to "Salala Lala", insofar as the main lyrics and rythm. Yet the article (and the Vengaboys one too) says it was released in 2000.
Mai Văn Bộ and Huỳnh Văn Tiểng wrote the lyrics and Lưu Hữu Phước composed the music. The trio decided to use a new pseudonym " H uỳnh M inh L iêng", with the letter H, M, L representing the family name of each member.
