That it’s not allowing access to app internal data is minor in comparison. Compare that to iOS, where the app needs to copy any data to be synced into the app internal storage of syncthing. And periodically restart itself and syncthing, because it can’t run continously. The android deficencies really are cosmetic in comparison.
Then Syncthing 1.2.2 could theoretically choke on the more recent configuration or database version. It’s a rather unlikely scenario though and can be avoided by letting Syncthing auto-update before restoring the backup. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to argue against @calmh’s efforts. I’ve been trying to sync some save data between my steamdeck and Laptop but my files just won’t sync.
