I've been taking 5000 mcg of Biotin a day for a couple years and I have to say I don't notice much improvement. I spoke with a woman today who takes 10,000 mg (5000 twice a day) and has gotten results. I'm considering doing this, but it does seem a bit excessive and I'm worried about toxicity.

I'm looking at Biotin on the Puritan's Pride website and they offer anywhere from 300 mcg. to 7500 mcg.!! I don't want to over do it, so I'm not sure which to get. They only have a few options for the Silica, so I've got that covered - I just have far too many options for biotin, so I'm confused!! Help! Thank you kindly for any help! :o
What works better 10,000 mcg or 20,000 mcg for hair growth. Any thoughts? o:
I used to get really serious headaches from biotin. As little as 300 mcg and I'd be screaming with migraine like pain. But, I've done lots of research into this and into toxic cleansing as well. I learned that biotin elevates blood sugar levels. So if you're prone to biotin headaches don't eat anything sugary around the time you take your ...
No im pretty sure 10,000 mcg is the maximum reccommended. Health stores usually carry up to that amount and a lot of people take that much. Sure, its way more than you actually need but its the most you can take before you even start getting side effects and you would need to take 1000 mcg before it even helped.
What works for me is taking Vitamin C with both. I take alot of Biotin and MSM daily, trying to offset my postpartum shed right now. I take 10,000 mcg of biotin and 2,000 mgs of MSM in the morning with 500-1000 mgs of vitamin and 1,000 mgs of EPO. I also do the same thing at night time before bed. I also do drink alot of water daily too.
I see articles on the interweb (my favorite term for the vast webby out there) of people using over 10,000 mcg a day of it. Some state amazing results others claim nothing. There is so much out there on Biotin, Monostat, etc. Biotin seems the most promising from my research.
