I've been dabbling in Geogebra for a few months and I'd tweet my frustrations to the #mtbos #ggbchat (math twitter blogosphere and geogebra chat)... and Steve Phelps answered several questions and made me little screencasts for creating things on my own. The Adult Numeracy Network’s Professional Development Principles state that sound professional development should begin with teachers as mathematics learners and thinkers. Following that principle, in addition to the discussion questions, a Math Task related to the reading will be offered each week. These are tasks that can certainly be shared with students, but as we go through the book ...

I've been following the development of math OER and there's a neat one called Illustrative Math. It is not only open, but the activities tend to have a lot of solid concept-building in them as well as the procedural regular stuff. Some people are even making lessons using geogebra and desmos to go with the lessons.

Hi everyone! As part of a curriculum alignment project I'm working on to aggregate resources and materials as they align to the CCRS, I'm wondering if anyone has gone through the work of doing a content alignment of Khan Academy that exists in Excel or CSV format. Khan provides a .csv file that lists out the alignment of all their practice content to the Common Core State Standards, but I'm ...

Several times during the LINCS Open Math – Open Resources course the conversation shifted to the issue about the time it takes to find the right OER for a lesson plan. How many of us have been in the situation where we are looking for just the right OER to integrate into our plan but can’t seem to find anything that does the job as we would like? And if we do find something that comes ...
