Scurry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 16,932. [ 1 ] Its county seat is Snyder, [ 2 ] which is the home for Western Texas College. Scurry County is named for Confederate General William Scurry. The county was created in 1876 and organized in 1884. [ 3 ]
