Wikipedia is not a soapbox for individuals to espouse their views. However, views held by politicians, writers, and others may be summarized in their biography only to the extent those views are covered by reliable sources that are independent of the control of the politician, writer, etc.
This template is a cut-down instance of the more general {{Google custom}} template. You may wish to make similar templates if you need to create repetitive links to other portions of Wikipedia that {{ Google custom }} can search.
The language inside templates is the same language as regular wiki markup, but template writers tend to use the more complex available functions such as #if: statements. See Wikipedia's Help:Template and Wikimedia's mw:Help:Template , including all of "advanced functioning" help pages listed toward the bottom of that page .

It is unnecessary to include braces, quotation marks or other wiki-markup in the template. The |text= field does allow the use of wiki-markup at the contributor's discretion. image - Places an image relating to the subject of the article on the left side of the section. size - Sets the image size, if left out or left blank it will default to 250px.
This is the {{Wikipedia templates}} navigation box. It is suitable for transcluding at the bottoms of template documentation and templates guidelines . This template is a self-reference and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopaedic content.
