The market opened in 1975 and serves as one of the best and largest fresh produce markets both in Metro Manila and in the country. The market is owned by the ACI, Inc., and is monitored by the Quezon City Government.

On April 28, 2023, the bus service was made permanent through Quezon City Ordinance No. SP-3184, series of 2023, or the "Q City Bus Ordinance", placing the program under the Quezon City Traffic and Transport Management Department. [21] As of May 2023, over 12 million passengers have been served by the city's bus services. [22]
