County Route 9 (CR 9) is a two-lane highway in eastern Orange County, New York, in the United States.The route is 10.0 miles (16.1 km) long, stretching north from an intersection with New York State Route 32 (NY 32) in the hamlet of Central Valley to a junction with NY 218 in the town of Cornwall, just west of the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson.

New York State Route 218 (NY 218) is a state highway located within Orange County, New York, in the United States. It loops off U.S. Route 9W to run closer to the Hudson River between Highland Falls and Cornwall-on-Hudson. North of Highland Falls, it is briefly concurrent with US 9W. NY 218 sees much traffic despite its short length.
The trestle spans the valley for 3,200 feet (975 m) and is 193 feet (59 m) high at its highest point, making it the second-highest and -longest railroad trestle east of the Mississippi River (after the 1889 Poughkeepsie Bridge of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, which is 6,768 ft (2,063 m) long and 212 ft (65 m) high).
Beaver Dam Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in the towns of New Windsor, Blooming Grove, and Cornwall in Orange County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 2,609. [3] The CDP is in eastern Orange County, bordered to the west by the village of Washingtonville and to the south by Salisbury Mills.
It is located along Bayview Avenue, NY-218, near Storm King Mountain. It was founded in 1901. Siblings Sarah and John Olmsted donated the 21-acre (8 ha) parcel. Campers would take the Hudson River Day Line ferry from the city to Cornwall and then proceed to the camp. In 1966 the New York City Society took a role in operating the camp.
