The Warning is the first studio album by American heavy metal band Queensrÿche, released on September 7, 1984, and reissued on May 6, 2003, with three bonus tracks. In 2019, Metal Hammer ranked it as the 13th best power metal album of all time.

In the early 1980s, Queensrÿche was known as The Mob, a cover band that played songs from popular heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. [3] Their line-up consisted of guitarists Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton, drummer Scott Rockenfield and bassist Eddie Jackson.
While none of the singles released from The Warning charted domestically, "Take Hold of the Flame" was a hit for the band outside the U.S., and particularly in Japan. [26] The band's first full-scale U.S. tour (in support of this album) was as the opening act for Kiss on their Animalize tour and Iron Maiden on their Powerslave tour .
Wilton was born in San Francisco, California, [1] but his family moved to Seattle, Washington when he was 6 years old. [3] His father took him to concerts from an early age and introduced him to many musical styles, especially jazz, [3] including John McLaughlin, Larry Coryell and Al Di Meola, [4] but also to rock music like Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers Band, and Eric Clapton. The Warning is a Mexican rock band from Monterrey, formed in 2013 by the Villarreal Vélez sisters: Daniela (guitar, vocals, piano), Paulina (drums, vocals, piano), and Alejandra (bass guitar, backing vocals, piano). They have released four studio albums, two EPs, and 18 music videos.
"Prophecy" was released as the B-side of "Gonna Get Close to You" and later included on the 1988 re-issue of the Queensrÿche EP and the 2003 re-issue of The Warning.
