Sekolah Menengah Sains Johor (English: Johore Science Secondary School; abbreviated SMSJ), is a boarding school located in Kluang, Johor, Malaysia.Established on 23 May 1973, SMSJ is the first boarding school or Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) ever built in the state of Johor and the 16th SBP built in Malaysia under the 2nd Malaysia Plan.

In the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia 2013 examination, the school gained GPS of 1.18 (20 students obtaining straight A's )to become the best school in Selangor. [1] [2] [3] The school made a history in the SPM 2020 examination to become the best school in Malaysia with GPS of 1.00 and in SPM 2022 with GPS 1.05 [4] [5]
Initially named as Kolej Islam Malaya, it is the first institution for Islamic higher education in Malaya [1] [2] [3] It was bestowed the title Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi (High Performing School) in 2010 by the Ministry Of Education. [4] Among others, the school is noted for its Silat and Nasheed teams. [5]

Even though SASEM is a new school, but it has shown tremendous progress. The school ranked highly in SBP list for both PMR and SPM achievements in 2013. A total of 37 students acquired 9As in SPM. The best achievements on subjects are History, Pendidikan Islam and Mathematics.
