Jefferson College Imperial is in Imperial, near Arnold and approximately 15 miles (24 km) south of St. Louis. [5] Jefferson College Imperial opened in 2010. The institution was established as the College of Jefferson in 1830, and chartered in 1831. The first building was completed in 1833, and the inaugural class began studies in 1834. In 2010, the Jefferson Community & Technical College completed construction of the new $25.6 million Health Sciences Building at Second and Chestnut Street at its Downtown Louisville Campus. It is a four-story, 100,000-square-foot (9,300 m 2 ) instructional building for allied health programs.
