Loghan Paylor is a Canadian writer, [1] whose debut novel The Cure for Drowning was longlisted for the 2024 Giller Prize. [2]Born and raised in Ontario, Paylor has a master's degree in creative writing from the University of British Columbia, and is currently based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. [3]
The current prize includes a trophy designed by Soheil Mosun. [4] On September 22, 2005, the Giller Prize established an endorsement deal with Canadian bank Scotiabank. The total prize package for the award was increased to $50,000, with $40,000 presented to the winning author and $2,500 each for the other four shortlisted nominees.

Jack Rabinovitch (24 June 1930 – 6 August 2017) OC, O.Ont was a Canadian philanthropist best known for founding the Giller Prize which is named after his late wife, Doris Giller, who was a literary columnist for the Toronto Star.
