Frankford Township is a township in Sussex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 5,302, [9] [10] a decrease of 263 (−4.7%) from the 2010 census count of 5,565, [18] [19] which in turn reflected an increase of 145 (+2.7%) from the 5,420 counted in the 2000 census.
Populations, as of 2010, range from the county's largest municipality, Vernon Township, with 23,943 residents, to Walpack Township, with 16 residents. [1] In size, municipalities range from Branchville borough, the smallest at 0.6 square miles (1.6 km 2 ) to the largest, Vernon, at 70.59 square miles (182.8 km 2 ).
Sussex County has one large venue for professional sports, Skylands Stadium, a 4,200-seat baseball stadium located in the Augusta section of Frankford Township near the intersection of U.S. Route 206, New Jersey Route 15, and County Route 565. [189]
