In 1933, Lacoste founded La Société Chemise Lacoste with André Gillier. The company produced the tennis shirt, also known as a "polo shirt," which Lacoste often wore when he was playing; this had a crocodile (often thought to be an alligator) embroidered on the chest. In 1963, Lacoste's son Bernard took over the management of the company.

Croc O' Shirt patch. Croc O' Shirt was a line of apparel marketed by Mad Dog Productions, mocking the Lacoste shirts in the early 1980s. The brand's name was a pun on the phrase "crock of shit" and its logo was a deceased Lacoste crocodile lying on its back. Croc O' Shirt was introduced in late 1980. [1]
This started with the Warthog logo embroidered on their polo shirts. Poking fun at the various animal logos appearing on preppy clothing such as Ralph Lauren's polo pony and the Lacoste alligator, Britches thought of the ugliest animal they could think of and started adding a Warthog logo to their shirts.
