The Mitsui Outlet Park Tainan (Chinese: Mitsui Outlet Park 台南) is an outlet mall in Gueiren District, Tainan City, Taiwan. With a total floor area of 84,000 m 2 (900,000 sq ft), construction of the mall started in January 2020. [1] [2] It started trial operations on February 16, 2022 and officially opened on February 25, 2022. [3]
The total area covered by the shopping centre is 463,000 sq ft (43,000 m 2) while the total floor space is more than 2,131,000 sq ft (198,000 m 2), including a multi-floor parking space area. The South Building includes the largest collection of Japanese specialty stores in Taiwan.
In 2010, the Taipei municipal government sought bids to build a new mall on the parking lots around Guang Hua Plaza. [5] The city announced that the building should be located at the intersection of Civic Boulevard and Jinshan South Road, have a total of 21 floors (15 aboveground, six below); and occupy a total floor space of 2678 ping, or 8,850 square metres (95,300 sq ft).
The outlet is owned and operated by Mitsui & Co. Taiwan Ltd. It has a mix of 170 shops and restaurants. [2] On 7 June 2019, Taiwan's first 20 degrees Celsius ski resort "SNOWTOWN" was opened with the introduction of Japanese technology. [4]
