Yorkville University is a private for-profit university established in 2003 with locations in Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick, Canada. The Lassonde School of Engineering was created in November 2011. In May 2013, students and faculty members in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Earth & Space Science & Engineering (both previously part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at York University) joined the Lassonde School of Engineering.

On September 15, 2014, York House School was one of nine buildings awarded the first-ever Vancouver Urban Design Award from the City of Vancouver, for the design of the Senior School. [3] [4] The new Senior School building was also featured on the cover of the September 2014 issue of Canadian Architect. [11]
