East Kilbride Civic Centre, which was commissioned by the burgh of East Kilbride was designed by Scott Fraser & Browning, built by Holland, Hannen & Cubitts and completed in 1968. The district was one of five in Strathclyde's Lanark sub-region, and took its name from the district's main town, being the new town of East Kilbride. Kelvin is an area of the new town of East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. [1] The area is a large industrial estate in the south-east of the town, surrounded by the St. Leonards, High Whitehills and The Murray residential districts, and Calderglen Country Park. The area is named after Lord Kelvin.
