The Riefler escapement is a mechanical escapement for precision pendulum clocks invented and patented [1] by German instrument maker Sigmund Riefler in 1889. [2] It was used in the astronomical regulator clocks made by his German firm Clemens Riefler from 1890 to 1965, [ 3 ] which were perhaps the most accurate all-mechanical pendulum clocks made.
Sigmund Riefler was born on 9 August 1847 to Magdalena and Clemens Riefler. He studied mathematics, geodesy and mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, and then physics and astronomy at the University of Munich. From 1870 he worked as an engineer in the Royal Prussian Land Survey, surveying land in Schleswig. [3]
A varied version of that escapement has been used from the 1860s inside electrically driven pendulum clocks, the so-called "hipp-toggle". [77] Since the 1870s, in an improved version the pendulum drove a ratchet wheel via a pawl on the pendulum rod, and the ratchet wheel drove the rest of the clock train to indicate the time. The pendulum was ...

In this case, that will mean investigating what happened. "That’s what we owe, certainly, to the families, and that’s what we owe to the American people,” he said.
By Tom Hals (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said he planned to invoke the Alien Enemies Act as part of his pledge to deport millions of people who are in the country illegally.
For example, Riefler's free escapement (which even has its own article here in the English WP) and Riefler's gravity escapement are definitely worth mentioning as the climax of mechanical escapement design for astronimical clocks.
