USB On-The-Go (USB OTG or just OTG) is a specification first used in late 2001 that allows USB devices, such as tablets or smartphones, to also act as a host, allowing other USB devices, such as USB flash drives, digital cameras, mouse or keyboards, to be attached to them. Use of USB OTG allows devices to switch back and forth between the roles ...
USB bootloader so you can program it with the modified version Arduino IDE (from DigiSpark). Micro-B USB jack for power and/or USB uploading. 5 GPIO - 2 shared with the USB interface. The 3 independent I/O pins have 1 analog input (ADC) and 2 PWM output as well. Hardware I²C / SPI capability for breakout & sensor interfacing.
The debugWire interface enables debugging using only one pin (the Reset pin), allowing debugging of applications running on low pin-count microcontrollers. The JTAGICE mkII connects using USB, but there is an alternate connection via a serial port, which requires using a separate power supply.
The written USB 3.0 specification was released by Intel and its partners in August 2008. The first USB 3.0 controller chips were sampled by NEC in May 2009, [4] and the first products using the USB 3.0 specification arrived in January 2010. [5] USB 3.0 connectors are generally backward compatible, but include new wiring and full-duplex operation.
Thunderbolt 3, 4, or 5 ports USB-C Thunderbolt 3, 4, or 5 connector. Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface developed by Intel. [75] It shares USB-C connectors with USB, supports USB 3.1 Gen 2, [76] [77] [78] and can require special "active" cables for maximum performance for cable lengths over 0.5 meters (1.5 feet). Compared to Thunderbolt 2 ...
The OTG device with the A-plug inserted is called the A-device and is responsible for powering the USB interface when required, and by default assumes the role of host. The OTG device with the B-plug inserted is called the B-device and by default assumes the role of peripheral. An OTG device with no plug inserted defaults to acting as a B-device.
