Rift S - currently £349 - John Lewis do a two year warranty in that as well. Price valid until 2/12/19. John Lewis do reasonably priced accidental damage cover as well £15 for 2 years. Quest £399 from them (warranty as the Rift S)
The Quest 2's resolution is way way higher than the Rift. (Not sure how it compares to the Rift S but it will be at least slightly better) Oculus does have a feature where you can pin a window in VR which I use to bring XCSoar in by running it on the PC and linking it with a serial port emulator. Don't underestimate how good VR is for Condor.
Exactly so, the rift controllers cannot be used in-game. You can perform basic control of the Condor2 UI outside of a running simulation by using the Oculus home virtual desktop mode with the rift controllers. In simulation, you are still limited by which controls you can assign to your non-rift controllers and keyboard (which can be tricky!!
1/ Launch Oculus on your PC. 2/ Start your headset by pressing the button on the right. 3/ Plug in your Oculus Link and put on your headset. Then adjust your headset on your head, and take an Oculus controller. From this step everything happens with the headset on your head.
