A Browning or Beretta 680 series gun will never go that long. It’s a combination of engineering and build quality. Just open/close a P or K gun and you can feel the difference.

There are scarce, historical shotguns that held more shot, but as a practical answer the most powerful currently available shotgun is the 3 1/2" 10 gauge magnum. However, the ten gauge magnum is quickly vanishing from gun store shelves as a new gun. A three and a half inch twelve gauge seems to be the new wildfowl and turkey gun of choice, and ...

My son-in-law recently acquired his grandfather's old 12 gauge shotgun. The gun is a break-open Stevens single shot 12 gauge with a 30" barrel and full choke, with external hammer. The gun still works, but it has been neglected and is fairly rusted. So I spent over 3 hours cleaning it last night. On the LH side of the barrel at the rear it has ...

Having most of the above guns, the Boss modified used by Perazzi, Gamba, Purdy Sporter, some H & H, Fabbri sound like one of strongest, due to draws and wedges in action walls as well as mid to top barrels lump to lock up action. It was reported the Beretta SO developer tried to discharge as SO type gun without the top locking bolt (Like Greener).

The stock is fastened very securely to the gun and utilizes a much broader baring area, also the top and bottom tang are attached as one unit which makes the gun the most reliable design that we have ever encountered. We feel this is the strongest gun we could have ever designed and it is very attractive because it is a shallow frame sidelock."

The Model 21 successfully fired 2,000 proof loads without any kind of failure, at which point the test was stopped and the gun torn down. Absolutely no discernible wear or change of dimension had occurred. This gun was featured in Winchester advertisements, photographed with the pile of 2,000 fired proof load hulls behind it.

There are a lot of naysayers out there due to the Turkish origin, let me set the record straight, this gun is well worth the $$. I bought one of the first Blaser F3's that came into the USA from a good friend of mine out in Cali. I paid 3400.00 for the gun and showed it off a bit. The negative comments I received were hilariously negative.
