You could get the witcher series though. Luna does not offer single game purchase option at the moment and subscription model does not seem to provide brand new game except the company owns the studio. Simplified answer, no one will give you a brand new game for $11 (subscription fee) when they can sell it for $60.
If I was the CDPR brass, I would have said 'Patch 1.7 will come in the middle of September and Phantom will release 2 weeks later, barring any serious problems'. They don't need to commit to a precise date...how is my suggestion any different from what they will very likely be doing any way?

New release date is December 10th, 21 days delayed (3 weeks) At this point I won't be convinced it's coming out until I'm able to launch it. But this is probably better than getting a half baked product. Also hope they don't overwork the devs.
