Speed Skating Canada (SSC) is the governing body for competitive long track and short track speed skating in Canada. It was founded in 1887, [ 1 ] [ 2 ] five years before the International Skating Union [ 6 ] of which SSC later became a member in 1894.
While competing Stack worked as a speed skating coach and prepared the national team to the 1952 and 1960 Winter Olympics. In 1965 he was inducted into the Canadian Speed Skating Hall of Fame as one of five charter members. He became member of the Canada Sports Hall of Fame in 1974 and of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in 1981. [2]
