The Kahl Building is a historic building located in Downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. [1] In 2020 it was included as a contributing property in the Davenport Downtown Commercial Historic District. [2] The building also includes the Capitol Theatre.
Davenport was the first city in Iowa to receive rail service. [2] The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (CRI&P) entered the city in 1856 after the first railroad bridge across the Mississippi River was completed in 1856.
