The Riverside Community College District, or RCCD, is the community college district serving Riverside, California, United States, and neighboring cities. It is part of the California Community Colleges System .
RCC first opened in 1916 at the same site as the Riverside Polytechnic High School (Riverside Poly). [2] Originally known as Riverside Junior College and later as Riverside City College, [3]: 206 the school changed its name to Riverside Community College in the mid-1980s.
RCCD opened the Norco Campus in April 1991, with an intent to meet the needs of students in the rapidly growing cities of Corona and Norco. The campus enrolled 3,088 students in its first semester—an opening scheduled to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the parent Riverside institution.
