TPC Scottsdale is a 36-hole golf complex in the southwestern United States, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, northeast of Phoenix. Opened 38 years ago in 1986, the resort is part of the Tournament Players Club network of golf courses operated by the PGA Tour. The Stadium Course has been home to the tour's annual Phoenix Open since 1987.
The Stadium Course was designed by noted golf course architects Pete and Alice Dye, and is known as one of the most difficult golf courses in the world. Constructed specifically to host The Players Championship, it employs a distinctive "stadium" concept: like in other sports, fans at the TPC sit in "stands" made of raised mounds of grass.
It was the 38th edition held at the Stadium Course and the first in March in thirteen years. On January 28, 2019, it was announced the 2019 Players Championship would have a $12.5 million purse, "the biggest prize professional golf has ever seen for a single tournament." It was a 13 percent increase from the 2018 Championship. [1]
TPC River Highlands is a private golf club located in Cromwell, Connecticut, a suburb south of Hartford. It is part of the Tournament Players Club network operated by the PGA Tour. Since 1984, it has been the venue for the tour's annual Travelers Championship, previously known as the Buick Championship and Greater Hartford Open.
TPC Deere Run was designed as a stadium course by D. A. Weibring Golf Resources, in association with PGA TOUR Design Services, and plays 7,258 yards (6,637 m) to a par of 71 from the championship tees. [4] The course record is 59, shot by Paul Goydos in the opening round of the John Deere Classic in 2010.
