Sussex is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States, about 19 miles (31 km) northwest of Milwaukee and 9 miles (14 km) north of Waukesha. The village is 7.24 square miles (19 km 2 ) at an elevation of 930 feet.

The system was established under Wisconsin Statute 43.15 by action of the Waukesha County Board of Supervisors in January 1981 as the Waukesha County Federated Library System. [1] The system transitioned to a two-county system on January 1, 2016, when Jefferson County joined and the name was changed to Bridges Library System. [ 2 ]
Madison Public Library was created by city ordinance in November 1874 under the persuasion of Mayor Silas Pinney. [3] It opened on May 31, 1875 as the "Madison Free Library" in two rooms of City Hall. It would keep that name until it was renamed the Madison Public Library effective on January 1, 1959.
It serves all of and Butler, most of Lannon and Sussex, parts of Lisbon and Menomonee Falls, and a small part of Pewaukee. [ 1 ] Established as a K-12 school district in 1961, Hamilton serves a 36-square-mile (93 km 2 ) area of suburban and rural communities about 15 miles (24 km) north and west of downtown Milwaukee .

The Baraboo Public Library, also known as the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library, is the public library serving Baraboo, Wisconsin. Located at 230 4th Avenue, the Carnegie library was built in 1903. It was one of the first small-scale Carnegie libraries in Wisconsin.
